Sculptural Box" is offered at the Corcoran College of Art
& Design and open to Continuing Education students and Bachelor of
Fine Art students. The class runs for 15 weeks and is next scheduled for the
Spring 2005 semester.
Class Description: This course is designed to expose the student to thought processes and techniques for communicating personal experiences and concerns through the execution of individual projects. The concept of the box as a wide-ranging and versatile sculptural form is used to deal with physical issues such as containment, collection and concealment. Beginning to intermediate sculpture students are exposed to woodworking techniques as well as mixed media materials and methods. Lectures and demonstrations will provide a background of technical and aesthetic information.
